IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTChina's first large-scale, pile-fixed, deep-water offshore solar photovoltaic (PV) plant has recently achieved operational readiness with the launch of its booster station, a contractor for the project announced on Monday.
The 400-MWac/539.3-MWdc CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan offshore PV facility is located in the Laizhou Bay area of northern Zhaoyuan City, a subordinate county-level city within the prefecture-level city of Yantai, Shandong Province.
Grand Sunergy, the HJT photovoltaic cells and modules supplier that disclosed the news officially, said in a statement that the project exclusively employs its Seapower Series 210-132 double-sided, double-glass HJT solar panels. The company noted that the modules of the specific series are equipped with an additional glass coating layer to enhance the glass' weather resistance.
The solar park consists of 121 photovoltaic sub-arrays spanning over a total planned area of about 6.44 square kilometers.
