Chinese solar panel maker Risen Energy Co Ltd (SHE:300118) said on Monday it has received a contract to deliver up to 1 GW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to Singapore-based independent power producer (IPP) platform Athein Holding Pte Ltd.

The deal, the value of which was not disclosed, covers the supply of heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin layer (HJT) solar modules. The equipment will be used for projects in Southeast Asia and India, where Risen Energy’s client aims to acquire, develop, build and operate utility-scale and rooftop PV projects.

Apart from delivering the hardware, Risen Energy will provide additional services to Athein Holding, including technical support and after-sales services, it said.

Operating as a joint venture partnership between five companies in Southeast Asia and India, Athein aims to have 1 GWp of renewable power plants in operation by 2026. "Risen Energy HJT modules open a new way for us to enhance our ability to meet the growing global demand for clean energy solutions," said Milan Koev, the CEO of Athein.
