Chinese photovoltaic (PV) inverter manufacturer GoodWe Technologies Co Ltd (SHA:688390) on Tuesday announced the opening of its first overseas manufacturing facility, located in Haiphong, Vietnam.

The company said the new factory marks a milestone in its global expansion strategy and is the third in its manufacturing network. The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday.

The 14,800 sq m plant will produce grid-tied and hybrid inverters for markets in North America and key Asian regions.

GoodWe expects that through establishing local production in Vietnam it will achieve enhanced price competitiveness in global markets, improve its service offerings and ensure timely delivery of products for residential, commercial and industrial, and utility applications.

“We are dedicated to establishing an overseas benchmark factory, showcasing operational excellence, and replicating success across our global markets in the future,” said Daniel Huang, founder and CEO of GoodWe, which has more than 5,000 employees globally.

“With the opening of the Vietnam factory, we look forward to cultivating expanded customer cooperation opportunities across the key markets such as United States and ASEAN countries, and beyond,” Daniel Huang added.
