Chinese project developer and photovoltaic (PV) panel maker Chint Solar has sold a 200-MWp solar project portfolio in Hungary to Shanghai Electric Power Co Ltd (SHA:600021) for an undisclosed sum.

This was announced on Thursday by independent financial advisory boutique Capcora, which provided M&A advice to the seller, namely Chint Solar Europe. The transaction has been completed in December 2022.

The divested portfolio includes five ground-mount projects in Northern Hungary that should enter construction this quarter and be commissioned in 2024. Each plant will range in size from 29 MWp to 51 MWp.

Shanghai Electric, which is owned by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), got legal advice for this transaction from Schoenherr, while Kinstellar was the one to consult the seller on the legal matters.
