AGA seeks to raise USD 6.5bn for major Aussie green ammonia project
Sep 13, 2024 14:34 CESTMontana Technologies Corp (NASDAQ:AIRJ) has entered into a partnership that will see its AirJoule atmospheric water generation technology integrated into the renewable hydrogen production modules of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects developer Climate Impact Corporation (CIC).
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a collaboration that will enable the production of renewable hydrogen anywhere with high sun exposure, including in deserts, at a competitive production price of USD 2 per kilogram, a press statement said on Thursday.

CIC’s technology utilises modular hydrogen production units which can operate entirely off-grid. Each unit contains solar panels, atmospheric water generators, electrolysers and supporting infrastructure.
The AirJoule generators, which Montana is commercialising through a joint venture with GE Vernova, harvest water from both humid and arid atmospheres to produce pure distilled water and dehumidified air. The units comprise metal organic framework coated contactors and a dual vacuum chamber to adsorb and desorb water from air in a highly efficient and scalable process.
CIC currently intends to develop two 10-GW renewable hydrogen projects in central Australia, with other schemes to follow in locations globally.
