Ciel & Terre Taiwan and pan-Asia renewables platform HEXA Renewables have completed the expansion of a floating solar project within the Changbin Industrial Park in Taiwan’s Changhua County, boosting its capacity to 440 MWp.

Specifically, the two partners have finished work on the Changbin #3 and #4 arrays with a combined capacity of 192.3 MWp. They represent extensions of an existing floating solar power system built in 2020.

In a blog post, the Taiwanese subsidiary of France’s Ciel & Terre said that this is one of the country’s largest and most technically challenging near-shore floating solar projects because of the fact that tidal changes in the seawater environment happen twice a day, with occasional typhoons.
