Marmen to restart wind tower production for 350-MW Quebec project
Sep 18, 2024 16:11 CESTCanadian hydrogen equipment company Cipher Neutron Inc (CN) has achieved a record-high 94.36% efficiency on its Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyser stack, which, it explained, translates directly into lower production costs for green hydrogen.
The firm announced this last week, saying that the achievement is both repeatable and scalable.

According to Cipher Neutron, the company’s AEM electrolysers now require only 41.754 kWh to produce 1 kg of hydrogen, excluding purification losses. On a large scale, a 100-MW plant will be able to produce nearly 20% more hydrogen annually compared to traditional electrolyser systems.
Cipher Neutron attributed the achievement to a number of key factors, including the system’s unique flow fields design, its unique ink recipe combined with an in-house developed coating mechanism, as well as advanced cell compression techniques, and zero-gap cell technology. The company says that its electrolysers are PFAS-free and require no iridium.
