China-based Clean Vision Corporation (OTCMKTS:CLNV) on Tuesday said its subsidiary Clean-Seas Inc has inked a letter of intent to construct a USD-30-million (EUR 25m) waste-to-energy project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The facility will be located in Kinshasa, where it will process 200 metric tonnes of municipal solid waste a day. The plant will consist of two modules and will utilise pyrolysis technology developed by US-based GlobalGreen International (OTCMKTS:GGII).

The first phase of the facility will convert the plastic waste into 96 MWh of power, 15,000 litres (3,962 gallons) of clean burning diesel fuel, 3,500 litres of industrial lubricants and three metric tonnes of char.

Under the agreement with local consultancy Hamden Group, the project includes a 30-year feedstock deal. Clean-Seas is holding talks with potential investors in the project.
