US clean energy investment platform CleanCapital on Monday announced that it has entered into a partnership with Arena Renewables to bankroll its portfolio of distributed solar projects across the United States.

The projects, focusing on community solar and corporate off-take, will be located in Illinois, Maryland and other markets. Arena Renewables, which specialises in this type of solar and storage development, will develop the projects.

CleanCapital said that it will provide a mix of debt and equity instruments to support Arena Renewables’ growth and operations, utilise its sophisticated diligence process to accelerate development, and eventually own and operate the projects long-term.

CleanCapital currently has over 240 projects of operating and under-construction assets totalling more than 340 MW, while its pipeline is filled with nearly 2 GW of solar and 8 GWh of energy storage projects.
