Chinese energy equipment and solutions company Shenzhen Clou Electronics Co Ltd (SHE:002121) announced today that it has secured a contract to supply a 437-MWh container-type battery energy storage system (BESS) in South America to an unnamed customer.

The BESS will be delivered to “a well-known American enterprise” specialised in power generation, energy storage and digital energy solutions. It will assist the transition of the local power source network system to renewable energy, according to the press release.

CLOU Electronics offers core technology and system solutions for smart energy and energy internet. It claims to be one of the first companies in China to focus on utility-scale energy storage.

The Asian firm established its US Energy Storage Company in 2023. It has already implemented a number of projects for local customers, including a large-scale lithium-ion energy storage site with a capacity of 24 MW/63 MWh in Indiana and a 99-MWh energy storage power station in Texas.
