Colbun signs PPA with Chilean egg producer Wind farm in Chile. Author: Diego Correa.

Chilean egg producer Huevos Santa Marta has secured a supply of electricity from 100% renewable sources for the next six years under a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with Colbun SA.

The power utility said Monday it had been awarded the PPA in a tender which energy consultancy Enerlink organised on behalf of its client. Through this procurement, Huevos Santa Marta will receive a supply of around 1.2 GWh per year from a mix of sources, including solar, wind and hydropower, for its operations.

Colbun, a company that only last year brought online its first solar park, said in the press release it had identified a portfolio of solar and wind projects for 3,200 MW that it expects to develop in the next five years.
