Construction of Grebak wind farm in Bosnia to start soon - report Wind farm Source: Nevesinje municipality

The construction of a 130 million marka ($78.8 million/66.5 million euro) wind farm near Nevesinje, in southern Bosnia, will start by the end of October or the beginning of November, local media reported on Wednesday.

The works were expected to start at the beginning of October but were postponed due to the need to make an annex to the original contract in order to increase the wind farm's projected installed capacity, news daily Nezavisne Novine reported.

The original contract envisages installed capacity of 49.5 MW, to be delivered by 15 wind turbines, according to Nezavisne Novine.

The investor will be obliged to pay 650,000 marka to the budget of Bosnia's Serb Republic, as well as a concession fee of 0.0055 marka per kilowatt hour generated by the wind farm.

The energy ministry of Bosnia's Serb Republic said in July that an unnamed German investor will start building the Grebak wind farm in October.

According to the Serb Republic's registry of business entities, Nevesinje-based Vjetroelektrana Grebak - the company that will implement the project, was founded by Admir Rahimic, Mostar-based firm Impro Impex, and German company Erich Preissler Windparkverwaltung GmbH.

In April 2019, the Serb Republic signed a 50-year concession contract with Vjetroelektrana Grebak to build and operate the wind farm. The project is expected to be completed in three years.

The Serb Republic where Nevesinje is located is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
