Wind farms builder Suvic said today that it is set to start construction works on the 161-MW Vitberget onshore wind project in Sweden after receiving a notice to proceed from the customer under a balance of plant (BoP) contract.

Work on the project will start with the deforestation of the terrain which has been assigned to local company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget SCA. VTG Entreprenad AB, in turn, has been hired to partner in civil works, according to a press release.

Construction works are expected to be wrapped up in December, Suvic's CEO Ville Vesanen said.

The 24-turbine Vitberget project is located in Kramfors municipality. It is owned by Renewable Power Capital (RPC). The output of the future facility has already been contracted by metal and glass packaging supplier Ardagh Group SA under a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Vitberget is part of the High Coast wind cluster which includes four projects. The other three are the 154-MW Storhojden site in the same municipality, the 140-MW Sorlidberget project in the Kramfors and Solleftea municipalities, and the 98-MW Knasjoberget farm in the Solleftea municipality. All four sites will be equipped with Nordex turbines.

Earlier this year, RPC announced the start of construction works on Storhojden and Knasjoberget.
