ContourGlobal to buy 201-MW of wind, solar plants from Raiffeisen

Oct 27, 2014 - US power plants operator ContourGlobal said today it will acquire about 201 MW of operating wind and solar parks in Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic from the Raiffeisen Banking Group.

To be more specific, ContourGlobal has signed a deal to buy a portfolio consisting of eight wind parks in Austria, with a combined capacity of 161 MW, plus a number of solar plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia totalling 40 MW.

The company has already closed a deal with Raiffeisen affiliate Renergie for 103 MW of the assets and expects to complete the acquisition of the remaining plants by end-2014 under an agreement with Raiffeisen-Leasing unit REE. The value of the purchases was not disclosed.

Also today, ContourGlobal said it will locate its European headquarters in Austria’s capital city of Vienna. The company has a portfolio of renewable energy plants in South America, Europe and Africa that reaches 1.4 GW of total capacity.
