Danish renewable energy developer Copenhagen Energy has secured Green Lane Certificate for the BuhaWind Energy Philippines projects, three floating offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of 4 GW that are being developed off the coast of the Philippines.

The certification is awarded by the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) and is aimed at streamlining the process of obtaining necessary permits and licenses.

Copenhagen Energy said in a recent social media post that the certification will allow it to fast-track the development of the projects. There will be an official award ceremony at the end of the month.

The BuhaWind projects include the Northern Luzon, Northern Mindoro and East Panay developments with potential capacities of 2 GW, 1 GW and 1 GW, respectively. Copenhagen Energy is co-developing the projects with PetroGreen Energy Corp.

Separately, the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) alarmed over the weekend that at least 105 renewable energy projects face potential termination due to non-compliance with project timelines, with most delays attributed to difficulties in securing possessory rights or challenges in connecting to the power grid.
