Woodland Biofuels to pour USD 1.35bn into Louisiana port biofuel hub
Sep 18, 2024 8:54 CESTMar 13, 2012 - US biobutanol technology firm Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC on Monday said it had initiated a legal action against biofuels firm Gevo Inc (NASDAQ:GEVO) for violating a newly granted Butamax patent for biobutanol production technology.
The patent was given for Butamax's KARI Enzyme Technology and covers recombinant KARI enzymes used in the biobutanol production process.
Butamax claims that Gevo uses the same technology for biobutanol production.
Back in 2011, Butamax sued Gevo for breach of two other patents. The trial is scheduled for April 2013, Butamax said.
