Brazil's Piaui govt clears operations for 300-MW wind park
Sep 12, 2024 9:29 CESTJun 18, 2012 - Brazilian state-owned power holding company Eletrobras (SAO:ELET3) is studying the development of wind power projects with a combined capacity of 5,000 MW, CEO Jose da Costa Carvalho Neto told local energy news site Canal Energia on Friday.
These projects will require investments of between BRL 3,500 (USD 1,700/EUR 1,340) and BRL 4,000 per kW, the executive noted. The huge investments in wind power, however, will not change Eletrobras' focus on hydro plants, Carvalho Neto declared.
