(ADPnews) - Jun 29, 2011 - Gestamp Wind, a subsidiary of Spanish engineering firm Corporacion Gestamp, has registered projects worth EUR 400 million (USD 575.5m) for an energy auction in Brazil.
The tender will be organised by Brazil's energy sector regulator Aneel in July.
Gestamp Wind already participates in eight projects in the Latin American country and if Aneel approves the presented projects, the company will lift its portfolio in Brazil by 260 MW, Gestamp Wind said in a statement yesterday.
Gestamp has long-term plans in Brazil due to the favourable conditions and the diversification of its business in the country, chairman Eduardo Garcia Molina said.
The parent company of Gestamp has an annual turnover of EUR 200 and its activities in Europe are concentrated in the production of car parts.
