SKOPJE (Macedonia), May 11 (SeeNews) – Swiss company WindTec Systems has launched the construction of a 5.0 million euro ($7.2 million) wind turbine factory in northwestern Macedonia and plans to start production by the end of 2011, the government in Skopje said on Wednesday.

The ENFLO Production factory, located near the village of Zelino, in the Tetovo municipality, will initially create 100 jobs, the government said in a statement after top cabinet officials attended the formal launch of construction.

According to the Swiss investor, if the undertaking proves to be a success, total investment will rise to over 20 million euro with the addition of at least 500 new jobs, the statement said.

The first of four planned production halls will have an area of 3,500 square metres. WindTec Systems has purchased a total of 24,000 square meters of land for the implementation of the project.

The output of the factory will mainly target European markets.

WindTec Systems (www.enflo-windtec.ch) is based in Kreuzlingen, in northeastern Switzerland.
