IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CESTSep 5, 2014 - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems’ (CPH:VWS) asknowledges market reports of an order to supply 110 MW of turbines for a project in the US but said the order was not firm yet.
"As soon as the project translates into a firm and unconditional order in accordance with Vestas’ definition, Vestas will disclose a company announcement about this," it said in a press release on Wednesday.
In a separate statement on Wednesday US utility Duke Energy Corp (NYSE:DUK) unveiled plans for the construction of a 110-MW wind park in Texas that will be powered by 55 units of Vestas’ 2-MW turbines. The Los Vientos V facility, to be situated in Starr County, is expected to be switched on at the end of 2015.
This week alone, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer said it will equip 100 MW of wind parks in Poland. The company won an order to deliver 58 MW of turbines to French group EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) for a wind farm that will be switched on at end-2015. In addition, it will supply 21 of its V90 turbines for a 42-MW project of Italian energy company ERG SpA (BIT:ERG).
