Eurowind, Wind Estate set up EUR-400m wind JV in Denmark
Sep 18, 2024 11:01 CESTMar 28, 2012 - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Tuesday said it had achieved a global market share of 12.9% in 2011, citing a study by market intelligence firm BTM Consult.
The figure means that the company has retained its position as the leading wind turbine supplier globally, it said.
BTM's analysis comes to support an earlier market estimate by IHS Emerging Energy Research (EER), according to which Vestas' share of the market has advanced to 12.7% in the past year.
Vestas said it expected a challenging year in 2012. The company pointed out to its "good start" with the recently unveiled 396-MW wind turbine order for a project in Mexico, developed by Marena Renovables, a consortium comprising Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund, Mitsubishi Corporation (TYO:8058) and PGGM.
