Brazil’s BNDES grants USD 87m to new biomass-fired power project
Nov 11, 2024 14:37 CEST(ADPnews) - May 31, 2010 - Brazilian ethanol maker Cosan (SAO:CSAN3) may resume acquisitions of new plants this year if prices are compatible with investments return, Rubens Ometto Silveira Mello, president of Cosan's board of directors said yesterday.
The executive spoke during a ceremony for the inauguration of Cosan's new ethanol plant in Jatai, Goias state, saying also that building plants outside Brazil, is not viable for Cosan.
The sugar prices are seen to remain stable this year and Brazil should expand its presence on the international market, Mello added.
As for Cosan's biofuel partnership with Royal Dutch Shell plc (AMS:RDSA, LON:RDSA), announced in February, the executive only assured the public that it was "going well".
