Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTCroatian state-owned energy utility HEP has secured a building permit for a woodchip-fired combined heat and power plant (CHP) in Osijek and plans to launch construction works in December, the country's economy ministry said on Friday.
Trialing should start in early 2017 with the 16.25 million euro ($17.7 million) power plant seen fully operational by spring the same year, the ministry said in a statement after economy minister Ivan Vrdoljak visited the site of the future plant.
The CHP unit, which will have annual electricity production of 16,500 MWh, industrial steam production of 32,400 t and thermal energy production of 53,200 MWh, will be built at the site of the existing Osijek thermal power plant (TPP).
HEP group owns and operates over 4,000 MW of installed generation capacity and 974 MW of heat production capacity, including 25 hydroelectric plants and eight thermal power plants fired by oil, natural gas or coal.
