World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTMay 9, 2013 - German bioethanol producer CropEnergies (ETR:CE2) plans to spend EUR 27 million (USD 35.5m) over the next two years to enhance the capacity of its bioethanol facility in Zeitz, Saxony Anhalt.
The company wants to equip the plant with a purification facility for the production of the so-called neutral alcohol, executive Marten Kiel told Mitteldeutschen Zeitung on Thursday.
The neutral alcohol is used in drinks, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
The new facility will thus expand the product range of the Zeitz plant, which, until now, produced bioethanol mainly for fuels.
