UK-based CRP Subsea, part of AIS, has secured a contract from Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) to supply cable protection for the 920-MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan.

CRP Subsea will provide a total of 142 NjordGuard integrated cable protection systems, which will cover all inter array and export cables of the projects.

CRP Subsea said the order highlights its ongoing expansion in the renewable energy sector. The company will produce the 142 NjordGuards at its purpose-built manufacturing facility in the North West of England. It will initiate project engineering works immediately, with installation activities planned to take place in 2024.

The Greater Changhua 2b and 4 wind farms will consist of around 65 wind turbines of 14 MW each. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, the two facilities will be located 35 km (21.8 miles) and 60 km off the west coast of Changhua County in Taiwan.
