EU opens new call for PCI, PMI energy infrastructure projects
Sep 18, 2024 15:49 CESTUS-based developer CWP Global has joined hands with Germany’s Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies to explore the feasibility of exporting Morocco-produced green hydrogen to Europe.
The partners said on Thursday they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to carry out the feasibility study this year. Their goal will be to explore the potential export of 500 tonnes of green hydrogen per day by using Hydrogenious’ liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) technology.

CWP Global’s AMUN hydrogen project near the city of Tan Tan in Morocco will be explored as a starting point in the study. The complex is planned to be powered by 15 GW of wind and solar capacity and deliver green hydrogen and ammonia to the fertiliser and maritime shipping industries, among others.
“This marks another step in building the clean energy future we are working towards, by identifying the most efficient and cost-effective solutions to deploying green hydrogen and its derivatives in support of Net Zero by 2050 goals," said Guido Schumacher, Chief Technology Officer at CWP Global.
According to the statement, the LOHC solution has great potential for long-distance shipments of hydrogen as it can safely be handled at urban ports.
