Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CEST(ADPnews) - May 26, 2011 - The number of biogas power plants in the Czech Republic may rise to over 500 in the next few years if all drafted projects are implemented, local daily Lidove noviny reported yesterday.
The Czech Republic currently has 192 biogas power plants with a total capacity of 115 MW.
The country plans to have 220 MW of biogas capacities by 2020, but this limit would be exceeded within three years, the daily commented. Therefore, the Industry Ministry plans some restrictions to the biogas sector.
The Czech government offers a feed-in tariff of CZK 4,120 (USD 237/EUR 167) per megawatt of biogas electricity, or three times higher than the market price.
