Czech Republic's 2013 solar power production drops 5% Y/Y - report

Mar 10, 2014 - Solar power production in the Czech Republic dropped by 4.74% on the year to 2,070 GWh in 2013, Czech News Agency reported, citing data by the Czech Photovoltaic Industry Association (CZEPHO).

According to the association, the figure was affected by unfavourable weather conditions as well as lower payments.

The country’s installed solar power capacity inched up by 50 MW to 2,131 MW.

Milos Cihelka, the association’s spokesman, was quoted as saying that the country’s installed capacity is not expected to witness a strong growth during 2014 due to lack of certain incentives for companies and households as well as administrative issues.
