Czech Republic's 2013 wind power production jumps by 15% Y/Y

Feb 24, 2014 - Wind power production in the Czech Republic rose by 15% on the year to 478 GWh in 2013, data released by the Czech Wind Energy Association (CSVE) showed.

The country’s installed wind power capacity inched up by 8 MW to 268 MW thanks to the addition of four wind farms.

Michal Janecek, head of the Association, was quoted as saying by the Czech News Agency that the country will not be able to reach its wind power target envisaging 743 MW of installed capacity by 2020. Janecek attributed this to the various regulations being introduced as well as the falling purchase prices of wind power.
