Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTChinese solar-grade polysilicon producer Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE:DQ) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Xiaoyu Xu as a director of the company, making her the first female board member.
Her appointment was effective on November 13.
Xu, the daughter of Daqo New Energy chairman and CEO Xiang Xu, joined the company in May 2023 to fulfill the role of investor relations director and board secretary. Her background includes work in the corporate and investment bank department of J.P. Morgan.
Xu completed an MBA degree at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration at the Haas School of Business of the University of California, Berkeley, the announcement said.
"We are pleased to welcome Ms. Xiaoyu Xu to our Board as our first female board member. We are confident that Xiaoyu, with her global perspective, creativity, and deep commitment to our mission, will significantly contribute to the Company's future growth,” the Daqo New Energy CEO said.
