German wind turbine technology specialist Deutsche Windtechnik AG on Monday announced the creation of a new country unit in Poland to cater to the increased demand for offshore-related consulting services in the operation and maintenance (O&M) business.

Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore sp. z o.o. has been established in mid-March and is headed by Country Manager Wojciech Luzniak, who, up until then, was managing the local onshore division of the company. The new unit will offer both individual services and full-service packages including balance of plant, asset management, logistics, intelligent wind farm management, strategic consulting and other services.

"Even though offshore planning is still at a relatively early stage here, we see significant potential,” Luzniak commented.

So far, Deutsche Windtechnik has been active in the offshore wind energy sector in the markets of Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.
