Deutsche Windtechnik Sweden, a subsidiary of German wind turbine technology specialist Deutsche Windtechnik AG, has been awarded a contract from Swedish property developer Wallenstam AB (STO:WALL-B) to service 23 wind turbines across the country.

The agreement relates to Vestas V90 turbines located across nine different wind farms in southern Sweden, Deutsche Windtechnik said. The contract covers servicing until the turbines reach 30 years of age, significantly exceeding the average operational lifetime of 20 years.

The move increases the use of existing infrastructure, lowers the need for new constructions and raises the turbine’s overall energy output.

With over 2,300 employees, Deutsche Windtechnik offers maintenance services for turbines in Europe, the USA, and Taiwan. The company is taking care of more than 7,300 wind turbines worldwide.
