Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTNatural health and wellness company Nature's Sunshine Products Inc (NASDAQ:NATR) announced on Wednesday that its manufacturing facility in the US now runs solely on solar power.
The company, which markets and distributes nutritional and personal care products, has achieved this objective one year earlier than what was set in its inaugural environmental, social and governance (ESG) report.
The facility gets its renewable energy supplies from the solar farm in Mona, Utah, according to the announcement.
Nature's Sunshine is also pursuing a 50% reduction of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, zero waste to landfill at US distribution centres and a 35% waste reduction at its manufacturing facility by 2025.
The company noted that switching to renewable sources of energy entirely has lowered its greenhouse gas emissions by 42% already.
