Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTUS data centres outfit Digital Realty (NYSE:DLR) today unveiled two power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 158 MW of solar energy in California and Georgia as a step toward 100% renewable electricity.
One of the deals is a 12-year contract that will support a new 130-MW solar project in Kern County, California being developed by US renewables developer Terra-Gen as part of its Edwards Sanborn Solar Storage energy project. The solar-plus-storage facility is expected to be completed late this year.

The second contract is for 28 MW of new solar supply that Digital Realty will receive as part of Georgia Power's Customer Renewable Supply Procurement programme. The power will be generated by new solar facilities in Georgia and will support Digital Realty’s Atlanta data center portfolio. The company expects to start receiving power and renewable energy certificates from the programme in 2024.
