The offshore wind convertor platform DolWin epsilon, built by a consortium of Singapore's Seatrium Ltd (SGX:S51) and Norwegian offshore engineering company Aibel AS, has sailed away from Seatrium’s yard in Singapore, the two companies announced on Monday.

The platform, with a transmission capacity of 900 MW and a gravity-based structure design, is part of the DolWin5 project in the German North Sea of European grid operator TenneT. It is now expected to arrive at Aibel’s yard in Haugesund, Norway in the second half of December, where Aibel and Hitachi Energy will install the final technical equipment. The platform is then set to depart for its final destination next summer.

Seatrium was called Sembcorp Marine Ltd until its merger with Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. Earlier this year, it also signed a framework cooperation agreement with TenneT to provide electrical transmission systems for three 2-GW offshore wind projects in the Netherlands.
