CNE, the Dominican Republic’s national energy commission, has issued a definitive concession for the 110-MW/131-MWp Coastal Solar photovoltaic (PV) project to be located in the province of San Pedro de Macoris.

The energy commission signed the concession deal with project sponsor Coastal Petroleum Dominicana SA, it announced last week. The concession is granted for a period of 25 years, according to CNE’s website.

The Coastal Solar scheme is the 24th definitive concession permission issued by the Dominican government in 2022 alone. CNE has given the green light to a total of more than 645 MW to be added to the national grid in the near future.

In December, EGE Haina, Ecoener and Eterra Grupo received concessions for three solar projects in the Caribbean country totalling about 137 MWp.
