The Dominican Republic’s national energy commission (CNE) on Tuesday signed definitive concessions with a sponsor that seeks to build two solar photovoltaic (PV) farms with a combined capacity of 23 MW/25.41 MWp in the Caribbean country.

The concessions were granted to Los Jovillos Solar FV SAS, the company promoting the 13.8-MW/14.97-MWp Los Jovillos Solar and the 9.2-MW/10.44-MWp Las Barias solar schemes.

Both projects will be located in the municipality of Azua, in the province of the same name.

There are 15 large-scale constructions ongoing around the country at present as there is less paperwork and more panels with the current Dominican administration, commented CNE executive director Edward Veras.
