Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CEST(ADPnews) - Jun 21, 2010 - US news corporation company Dow Jones and Company Inc said today it chose photovoltaic (PV) equipment maker SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWRA) for the construction a 4.1 MW power plant.
Dow Jones announced its plan to build the facility in April 2010.
The PV installation will be assembled at Dow Jones corporate offices in central New Jersey, USA. The facility will comprise elevated solar panels with total capacity of 3.6 MW above parking areas and a 522 kW rooftop installation. Upon completion, the power plant will produce 5 million kWh of electricity per year.
At the site, SunPower will implement T5 Solar Roof Tile, a single pre-engineered unit that combines a solar panel, frame and mounting system. According to SunPower estimates, the T5 Roof Tile system approximately doubles the energy generated per square meter (10.76 square feet) compared with other systems that are mounted flat onto commercial rooftops.
