Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, better known as Masdar, and Dubai-based global port operator DP World have teamed up to explore and deploy renewable energy for DP World's global operations in the Middle East and Africa.

The companies on Monday unveiled a three-year partnership, aiming to identify suitable sites for the potential installation of solar and energy storage systems, starting with Saudi Arabia, Senegal, and Egypt. They will seek to speed up the adoption of renewable energy in DP World’s supply chain by sharing knowledge of the regulatory landscape and other challenges.

DP World chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem described the partnership as a significant step forward in DP World’s commitment to sustainable operations at its ports and terminals.

"Masdar and DP World are leading the way in the decarbonisation of the company’s port operations and supply chain, to explore all options to advance the development and deployment of renewable energy power and storage systems in hard-to-abate sectors,” said Masdar chief executive Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi.
