Polish photovoltaics (PV) installer Columbus Energy SA (WSE:CLC) has signed a non-binding term sheet with the renewables arm of Ukrainian private energy group DTEK about a potential investment in the deployment of 398 MW/1.6 GWh of energy storage facilities.

The contemplated partnership concerns the installation of three grid-connected energy storage systems being developed by Columbus, according to a statement released today.

Columbus and DTEK Renewables International BV are currently negotiating the terms of a binding agreement, conducting due diligence and detailing the investment terms. A final agreement could be expected within 60 days.

The Polish firm's president Dawid Zielinski noted in the statement that the company has long been looking for a proper partner for investments in its energy storage facilities which he described as one of the largest in Europe.
