World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CEST(ADPnews) - May 23, 2011 - DuPont Apollo Ltd, part of US chemicals major Dupont (NYSE:DD), announced Friday that it will supply its silicon-based photovoltaic (PV) modules to the clean power unit of global IT services company Wipro Ltd (BOM:507685).
The order, placed by Wipro EcoEnergy, commits Dupont to ship thin-film solar modules to India for upcomming grid-based solar power projects.
The first phase of the supply agreement is planned to be completed by the first quarter of 2012.
The solar industry in India is poised for a leap following the launch of the country's National Solar Mission in January 2010 that aims to generate 22 GW of solar power by 2022.
