Dutch Vopak completes deal with Greenergy in UK

Dutch oil storage firm Vopak (AMS:VPK) said on Friday it had completed the previously announced sale of Vopak Holding UK.

UK fuel supplier Greenergy is now officially the owner of Vopak's 33.3% investment in the joint venture Thames Oilport, former Coryton refinery, which is still under development.

The divestment is the first of two transactions related to Vopak's British assets.

The deal with Macquarie Capital is expected to be completed by the end of March. It involves Vopak's three wholly-owned terminals: Vopak Terminal London, Vopak Terminal Teesside and Vopak Terminal Windmill.

The transactions, which make an end of Vopak's British activities, will result in a one-off gain of GBP 200 million (USD 285.7m/EUR 263m), the company said earlier.

(GBP 1.0 = USD 1.428/EUR 1.315)
