Battolyser Systems raises EUR 30m in Series A funding round
Sep 12, 2024 11:35 CESTOct 22, 2014 - Dutch Vopak (AMS:VPK) will slash 200 out of 1,000 jobs in the Netherlands as part of its sharpened strategic focus announced earlier this year, a spokesperson for the oil storage firm said Tuesday, quoted by news agency ANP.
Vopak has already said it aims to save costs and would sell 15 smaller terminals.
The spokesperson did not rule out forced redundancies. The company will not fill job vacancies and will not extend temporary contracts to implement the job cuts, which will affect its terminals and the headquarters in Rotterdam.
Vopak's Dutch terminals are based in the Rotterdam port area, Vlaardingen, Vlissingen, Eemshaven and Amsterdam. Globally, the company operates a network of storage terminals for oil, gas, chemicals and biofuels, but the market is facing overcapacity due to the economic slowdown.
