Dyadic Intl unveils enzyme product for 2nd-generation biofuel production

Jul 16, 2012 - US early-stage biotechnology company Dyadic International Inc (PINK:DYAI) today said it had developed a product -- AlternaFuel CMAX3 -- for the production of cellulosic biofuels from renewable non-food feedstocks.

The company added that the product could also serve in the making of bio-chemicals and biogas. The enzyme can be used with a variety of feedstocks and under broad operating conditions.

According to Dyadic, AlternaFuel CMAX3 reaches similar saccharification yield at pH 5.0 and even better results at pH 6.0 than current leading biofuels enzyme products. The saccharification yield represents the relative amount of fermentable sugars released through enzymatic hydrolysis from lignocellulosic biomass.
