DYCM to build 2-GW solar module factory in Southeastern US

DYCM to build 2-GW solar module factory in Southeastern US Author: University of Salford Press Office.

DYCM Power, a joint venture of Das & Co LLC and APC Holdings LLC, has proposed building a solar cell and module production facility in the US with an initial capacity of 2 GW, potentially expandable to up to 6 GW.

The project will be realised at an investment of USD 800 million (EUR 719.1m), DYCM Power said. The company’s partner in the initiative will be Macquarie Capital, the investment unit of Australia’s Macquarie Group.

Once in operation, the factory will produce TOPCon photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules and sell them to the domestic market, with first production expected to begin in the first half of 2026.

The exact location where the complex will be installed has still not been determined but DYCM Power said it is finalising the site selection process in Southeastern US. The company added it has agreed a supply contract with an unspecified US-based polysilicon provider and secured a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a North American glass manufacturer. Details about those contracts are due to be announced in the near future.

Minnesota-based Mortenson will act as the project’s engineering and construction contractor, while ECM Greentech Engineering will deliver turn-key lines for the production process.
