Dyesol, Solliance to work on Perovskite cell for cladding, roofing

Dyesol Ltd (ASX:DYE) has joined the Solliance Perovskite research programme with the goal of developing a commercially viable Perovskite solar cell (PSC)-based steel product for the global cladding and roofing markets.

In a statement on Thursday, the Australia-based company said that through this three-year agreement it gets access to much needed processing equipment and expertise for the commercialisation of its PSC technology on steel.

Dyesol will be able to use foreground and background intellectual property (IP) of the Solliance programme’s research and development partners, which include Belgian, Dutch and German firms, research institutes and universities. Meanwhile, Dyesol’s background IP remains protected.

"Utilisation of Solliance’s laboratories and pilot production lines will enable Dyesol to reduce its steel related capital expenditure and increase internal focus on its core PSC technology development," said managing director Richard Caldwell.
