Dynegy Inc, a subsidiary of Texas-based energy company Vistra Corp (NYSE:VST), will be supplying 100% renewable power to the McCormick Place convention centre in Chicago, Illinois, over the next three years.

The company announced today that it has been picked for the job by Chicago's Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA). Under the terms of the contract, all electricity consumed by the convention centre will be offset by the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs).

In an effort to create a more sustainable campus, McCormick Place is also undertaking a lighting retrofit project of indoor spaces and parking lots with a switch to energy-efficient LEDs. The facility will rely on Dynegy GreenBack dollars to offset the cost of energy efficiency improvements.
