Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTZAGREB (Croatia), May 4 (SeeNews) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday it is launching a 60 million euro ($69 million) facility for financing energy efficiency improvements in Croatian homes and households.
Sub-loans under the new facility, titled REENOVA+, will be extended by partner financial institutions, including Erste&Steiermaerkische Bank, to finance the installation of energy efficient technology in homes, the EBRD said in a press release.
The new facility will finance, among others, the installation of energy efficient windows, the insulation of walls, roofs and floors and the introduction of efficient boilers, solar water systems, heat pumps or home appliances. Energy efficient homes will typically maintain better thermal comfort, become warmer and households will be able to substantially reduce their energy bill, the EBRD explained, adding that energy efficient technologies also extend the lifespan of buildings and increase the property value.
The loan will also be available to manufacturers, retailers and installers of energy efficient technologies via partner institutions in order to expand their supply and service range and ultimately to enhance their service to Croatian households, the lender noted.
The EBRD has also launched a REENOVA+ Technology Selector, an online tool which allows interested households to compare and choose their preferred energy efficiency solution and provides ideas on possible combinations.
The EBRD has so far provided over 2.8 billion euro in sustainable energy financing to more than 100 local financial institutions in 24 countries.
