Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a loan of up to 4 million euro ($4.6 million) to Bosnia's Partner MKF Tuzla for residential green investments, it said.
The funding will be on-lent to individuals, housing collectives, producers, vendors and service providers for green investments, such as the installation of high-performance green technologies, materials and solutions in privately-owned residential dwellings and buildings, the EBRD said in a statement on Wednesday.
The loan is provided under the EBRD's Western Balkans Green Economy Financing Facility (WB GEFF II). The 135 million euro programme is supported by the EU, the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. It is also part of the Regional Energy Efficiency Programme (REEP) for the Western Balkans.
To date, the EBRD has provided loans of over 10 million euro to 3,000 households in Bosnia through partner financial institutions as part of the GEFF programme. These have contributed to more than 7,800 MWh of energy savings and a reduction of more than 2,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
PMF is the third largest non-deposit microfinance institution in Bosnia. It was set up by US-based international relief and development non-governmental organisation Mercy Corps.
