Bulgaria's NEK opens tender for new turbines at pumped storage plant
Sep 18, 2024 13:50 CESTSOFIA (Bulgaria), June 7 (SeeNews) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Thursday it is considering providing a 24.5 million euro ($30.8 million) loan to finance the construction and operation of a portfolio of three wind farms located near the Bulgarian towns of Kavarna and Varna.
The total installed capacity of the project, which has an overall price tag of approximately 67 million euro, is 40 megawatts (MW), the EBRD said in a statement posted on its website.
The project is expected to be financed alongside one commercial bank.
The project companies are registered in Bulgaria and are fully owned by Terna Energy SA, a subsidiary of Greece's GEK Terna Group.
The proposed funding is pending board review on July 10.
